This is the LAST page of our site....a great memento for our daughters to see just how much they were loved and wanted by not only us, but all those who have been touched by their story. Thank you for all of your support and best wishes from our family to yours for a great year filled with beautiful memories.
It's been 1 Year since we became a family on Dec. 4th 2005. What a year it has been! Mommy is holding Sophia and Daddy is doing his best to keep Alyssa!
Nonna has been a very special person in our journey. Here is Nonna and Nonna sharing a special day with us. Alyssa cheers for the cake!
Alyssa (left) and Sophia enjoying a rare treat.
Daddy and I were going out....so we didn't have to deal with any "sugar" effects!
By the grace of God, we received this picture from a fellow adoptive Mom who was herself a twin and took this picture of our girls the DAY they arrived at the orphanage. The mother who took this picture was searching for the mom who adopted these girls and was relieved when we finally connected. The girls were only 3 days old when this picture was taken. We are so thankful for this piece of history of our girls.
Can you tell who is who????
Alyssa reaches for the tree.
What is Daddy doing?
Mommy is soooo happy to have her angels to share Christmas with!!!
Opening gifts from Zia with Zia!
Alyssa (right) and Sophia warming up.
"Finally, it's all mine!"
The girls love this slide (even though Sophia may not look like it!).
"Just GO all ready Sophia!"
"Please, no pictures!"
Alyssa takes advantage of having the slide to herself.
"Hmmm.....tuck my head under, push with my legs......but I'm only just barely 2!"
Mommy encouraging Alyssa to do her front somersault.
"Is this Sophia or Alyssa?"
Alyssa poses with her gymnastics instructor...Sophia wasn't quite ready to sit on her lap.
Some Cute Pictures
Are there any other kind?
Christmas Party for their reading group. The "teacher", (who has the patience of a Saint....and who Alyssa wanted to go home with one day!), poses for a picture with the girls.
Dressed up to go visiting. The girls aren't too happy about putting on skirts or dresses (they take after their Mommy!).
But they do look so darn cute dressed up though!
Gotta love those hats!!!
The girls and their monkeys. They love anything soft and cuddly but the problem is they want to hold them while they are eating. We convinced them to put the monkeys on their shoulders (this time!).
Nonno the babysitter. The girls LOVE their Nonno. I think they have it all figured out........ Nonno will do anything for them!
The t.v. must be on behind Nonno!
The girls finally got their first haircut. Alyssa, being the oldest, went first so of course Sophia knew what she was in for which explains why she is sitting on Mommy's lap! We love their new hair thanks to Cristina!
Alyssa getting ready for her first cut..... being bribed with some hair curlers!
She preferred the Smarties though!
Alyssa (left) after haircut and Sophia (right) before her haircut with Daddy.
Notice no chair for Sophia, but she still manages to get some Smarties though!
Can you just see her pain? And she hasn't even had one snip yet with the scissors. When Smarties can't win her over you know nothing will!
Unfortunately we couldn't get any after shots of Sophia. It was just about all she could handle for her first time in a beauty salon. Cristina, (God Bless her), had to chase around after her to finish up her haircut! I think in the future Sophia will LOVE getting her hair done....but that definitely wasn't the case today. We are all relieved that it is over. How many weeks until the next haircut?????
Who needs the Florida sunshine when you have your own little sunshine girls right at home!
We were off to a good start when the girls spotted Elmo, (their favourite guy.....besides Daddy), at the Park n Fly.
Who else but Sophia and Alyssa would jump on the suitcase weigh scales in front of a huge line of people waiting to check in at the airport? They didn't inspire anyone to follow suit, however we did find out how much they weigh!(With their boots and layers of clothing on). Alyssa was 24 lbs and Sophia was 23.5 lbs. We weren't too surprised that Alyssa was heavier judging by the way she eats, she loves her food and she brings Nonna lots of joy watching her eat her soup! The girls loved these weigh scales and kept everyone in line entertained.
A walk with cousins Sarah,Laura and Daddy on the resort grounds.
Downtown Disney was great!!!! It was full of neat shops and fun things to do for the wee ones that didn't cost anything. (Except that cool train ride you see Daddy and the girls on below). The girls LOVED the Lego store and were the smallest little builders there. They could have played in there all night.
Sophia and Alyssa check out Pooh's honey pot.
They could barely see over the table!
We took the girls to see their first movie ,"Happy Feet", which they LOVED. For those who don't know the movie it is about a penguin who can tap dance. These next pictures, taken at Seaworld, will give you an idea of why they seem so happy standing beside these murals of penguins .................
The girls don't seem to know which way to look!?!
Waiting in line for the Peter Pan ride, which we ending up bailing...............We heard it was a really good ride, oh well, next time!
Alyssa strikes a pose with her cousins. Enjoying the good life.
I never really realized before just how much teenagers and 2 year olds have in common.............I only wish that I was the one enjoying a catnap, but then someone has to keep the driver awake.
All packed and ready for our VERY early morning flight.
Alyssa is such a big helper, I don't know how we would have gotten that suitcase closed!
Well, that concludes the pictures for this page and only a few left for the birthday page. I need to dedicate my time to working on their scrapbooks. I am embarrassed to admit that I am probably a year behind in their scrapbooks which is quite sad considering we have only had the girls for just 14 months! Having said that when things get a little more under control in that department I will probably add pictures here for VERY special occasions. I am such a sucker especially when it concerns SAM!!!!!!
